Like Water for Chocolate This movie seemed a lot like a fairy tale, like Cinderella or something. It had this air of magic and moral lessons. It was actually pretty cheesy. We watched it to keep our spanish up, but weren't quite brave enough to forego the subtitles, so we were lazy and didn't get any practice at all.
The Strangers One of the best thrillers I've seen in a long time. Almost as good as Saw. Definitely more tense. My shoulders ached afterwards from tensing up so much. It was much more about the suspense than about blood and gore, which I appreciate. It's taking a real chance getting a horror/thriller movie nowadays, but this one was a pleasant surprise. If you want to be scared, this will do it.
Fuel This is a documentary about fossil fuels vs. other types of fuel. It's very informative and not inflammatory, really. It has a good story-line and is hopeful in the end about utilizing other sources of fuel in time to avoid a disaster from our overdependence on fosill fules. Although it still leaves you wondering, "can this happen? Will this happen?"
The Town Pretty cool movie. It wasn't just your normal action adventure type, but a step above. Nice that it didn't have a perfectly tied-up-with-a-bow happy ending. The only thing that didn't make sense at all was why they would tell the druggie sister about their plan!
Unfortunately, pictures don't do these kitties justice! But, we wanted to provide their fans with something. There are some good potential screensavers and wallpapers in here, people!
